I stared into my locker, not wanting to speak as Renee continued to interrogate me. "How did it go? Are you sure you don't want to talk about it? Are you ok? HOW DID IT GO? What happened?"
"It was fine," I murmered under my breath. "I don't really want to talk about it right now. Beside, I have a math class to catch."
"Logan," Renee replied impatiently. "You hate math. Are you alright? Are your eyes red? Please, tell me whats up..."
"Fine!" I screeched as the bell rung continously, piercing my eardrum. Other kids who had decided to linger in the hallways darted into their next class, splashing sheepish grins on their faces. "I'll tell you what happened. Demal dumped me. He dropped me like a hot potato for Susanna Holmes. He doesn't like me at all anymore. He used me to get to her. He NEVER liked me. It was all a setup."
I tried to make the diescription as vague as possible, but even then tears sprang to my eyes.
"I'm so sorry," Renee whispered. "Is there anything I could do to help?"
"Probably not," I replied. "I've liked him forever. Then, he pretends to like me to get to someone I thought was my friend. And guess what?"
"What?" Renee breathed, looking at me sympathetically.
"She went for him completely and just gave an innocent smile my way when they kissed."
"THAT GIRL STOLE YOUR KISS?!"
"Yeah. As I said, I don't want to talk about it."
Renee sighed. "Math? Or ditch for smoothies?"
"Smoothies," I replied, grabbing lunch money from my pocket.
"Let's go then."
